Venice (2)

Venice was very hot. It is built on 170 different islands.
I found it quite boring , tho it was better than Dubrovnik. I had to stop mum looking in every second Venetian glass jewellery shop.
I liked the the coca cola flavour slushy and also the ice cream that we bought. I also [...]

Venice (1)

I can’t believe i have been here twice before – how could I have completely forgotten it?! It is exceptionally pretty and still feels lived in. (Certainly the outskirts do – as Brian and I established beyond doubt while driving around aimlessly and endlessly looking for our camp, reality bearing no relation to our [...]

Ferry to Albania

First we had to wait in a huge queue of cars, and then it turned out that we were in the wrong lane so (Dad using his new Italian driving skills) we pushed in front of a red car. When we finally got on board it was after 11pm but we were wide awake.

Sorrento (2)

Sorrento (1)

We drove down from Rome to Naples. It was a very boring, long drive but we had a humungus van called a Jumpy so we weren’t squashed. When we got there it was 8.45pm and we put up the tents in the dark, then realised one was still broken from camping with the Caseys! We [...]

Rome (4)

Day 2 in Rome was a very full day. We started with the Vatican, visiting St Peter’s – Annie with Joseph’s jumper over her bare shoulders – and down to the crypt where many Popes are buried. But decided to skip the Sistine chapel as Paddy in particular was tired and the queue was huge.
Wandered [...]
